After living through four and a half weeks of weekend custody of our children, (they have been staying at my parents' house each Monday to Thursday) Scott and I are delighted to report that our little ones are finally coming home! Today, they will end their ridiculously long sleepover and be residents of our home once more ... well, at least until the next surgery.
We are so excited!

Welcome home, Laila and Owen. I have a feeling you'll be the very best medicine of all for mommy.
Yay! I'm sure that will brighten your spirits! Not to lecture, but...be sure to remember that you do NOT have to try to be "Super Mom." You are SUPER regardless of what you do. Enjoy!

I am willing to offer Emma and Carter to your parents for the M-Th stretch (so your parents don't go into sudden withdrawal).
Welcome Home, Laila and Owen! Liz and Scott - congrats and be sure to take it easy. Let us know if you need a play date distraction....
Hurray for the little Hewitts coming home! I am sure you have missed them. It will be nice to have the whole family together again!
Laila called Seamus - said something about hosting a "kegger" on Saturday night?
Owen called MJ and asked if she had any cute friends and if she knows how to play spin the bottle.
What were your parents teaching these kids?
What a great birthday present for mom! Happy B-day Liz. Thinking of you often.
So happy to hear that the Family Hewitt is all in one place again.
As to your question in the previous post: Nap. Always vote for nap.

Happy birthday Liz, and hope that having the kids back home is a great way to start your celebration. As I write this it is late so your celebration may have ended but we thought of you all day today and hope it was a wonderful day.
Much love,
Deirdre
During their visit, the children worked really diligently to uphold and in many cases surpass their lived etiquette. So as to continue this model behavior, please note:
When tossing wet wash cloths, always be aware of painted walls and stem-ware.
When eating in the bathtub, use only plastic plates with raised rims to avoid soggy sandwiches.
Before meals refrain from chocolate unless it is the covering for PROTEIN.
During meals refrain from chocolate unless it is the covering for some food group, raisens or apricots or sunflower seeds are good examples.
At any other time, chocolate is an excellent source of many required nutrients, eat often, in moderate amounts.
CABLOOEY, the rigerous physical exercise of strategic jumping and flopping onto large piles of pillows is to be played at anytime outside of active meal time but is never played while chewing.
Hair combing should always occur after shampooing but other than that, is over rated during the winter months.
A "room of one's own' is essential for those quiet moments of peaceful reading, although a closet will suffice when necessary.
Outdoor voices are appropriate indoors only if a window to the outside is open in the room where you are vocalizing.
Please consider these only as helpful support to two of the best parents I have ever met.
Love,
Nona
